I don't know how we managed, but last night, we went to a show I've been dying to see for a while now. Twin Shadow, my all time favorite band, was playing at the A & R Music Bar downtown. If you haven't heard them, and enjoy 80's synth wave music or the like, I'd check them out here.
I saw them my freshman year of college, in this small bar in Cleveland, and it was one of the best nights I've ever had. There are so many things I associate with listening to their music that I didn't think twice about buying tickets again. So I got them probably about 3 months ago. Fast forward to around 9PM last night, and you can imagine how we looked forcing ourselves out of the apartment. Poor Dan was such a trooper coming with me, (this kind of music isn't his cup of tea), but needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves, and I actually ended up running right into the lead singer before he went on to play their set! I wish I could've said something thought provoking, or even a "have a great show!" but no, I just audibly gasped and then managed to stutter like a creep..."oh! hellooo..." Cue embarrassment.
Long story short, the show was excellent and I was so happy, and so exhausted, that I shrank into bed when we got home.
So back to today.
I haven't really been able to muster the stomach to bake anything, so I figured I'd get to crafting amongst my other sewing projects I'm working on. I'm a big fan of DIY home decor. Then again, who isn't? I'm always on Pinterest when I'm lacking inspiration, and I stumbled upon a really simple craft, but it makes use of a large amount of space, depending on where you want it displayed. So I'll show you the version I found online first!
To give it some more visual interest, I took the ends of some of the pieces and pulled them in half, to the point where they started to get tangled with others and spiral. I also knotted a few together.
As far as hanging it on the wall, you can always tie 2 loops at each end to hang them buy, or just set them on tacks like I did here!
So here's the final product!
I'll have to take photos of all of the different odds and ends in our apartment one day so you guys can understand...plenty of my paintings, heirlooms from Dan's grandmother, and all sorts of knick knacks..it's really quite a sight, especially Dan's giant frog...and hippo hippo...
Happy crafting guys!
