I know I've mentioned in the past on here that I'm a lavender fiend. Anything lavender scented; lotions, candles, perfume, soap, you name it, I've probably owned it at some point. Some people associate it withe old ladies, I think of it as my trademark smell. Judge me all you want, but I'm an old soul at heart.
A. I love lemonade.
B. Lavender flavoring? Sounds good to me. It's pretty much spring anyway, so it's acceptable to make a pitcher of lemonade, right?
But in order to make it, I had to hunt down lavender oil.
Well, that sounded a lot more exhausting than I wanted it to be, so I started hunting down ways to make it myself. Turns out, similarly to the vanilla extract I'm currently in the process of making, it's really easy, you just have to wait a while to use it.
The best part of this oil is that like vanilla extract, a little goes a long way. In multiple recipes I've found, you can replace it with spices such as thyme when cooking with meats, while baking cookies, or bread, or even honey. So prepare yourselves for all kinds of posts with this oil in the weeks to come!
Can't wait to share with you guys! Anything you're excited to do once spring starts? Cooking, spring break, anything??
Until next time!
