To put it simply, the day was magical. Insert allllll of the confetti here. It was my very first time working on a not-fashion-related styled shoot and there's no other way to describe it but just plain fun. We put our helping hands where we needed, met some incredibly rad creative ladies, and the couple, Sarah and Carolina were a badass duo with their animal pals in tow.
The team was required to photograph everything they received in the box sent to them. Everything that they received was a little different than they anticipated; iridescent graphic paper, a little lego, etc; definitely a 90's vibe. And even after having to redesign the shoot, everything fell into place. It always does right? No matter the stress we may be under, if we trust in the process, it all manages to work out somehow. That must be the beauty in surprise.
These are not all of the photographs from the entry, but I included a few of my favorites. Watching the cake smash at the end of the shoot was the highlight of my day. That was the first wedding cake I had ever made, and even though it wasn't technically "real," I still had an overwhelming feeling of joy watching the grand finale. All of the feels.
There are so many details to this story and how the shoot came to be that I don't want to paraphrase too much. Instead, you should go read the entire contest submission here.
Everything about this day was fantastic. It goes to show that when you get creative, powerful people together, beautiful things happen.
